Our fleet
The Main Rotor Hub operates a variety of different aircraft, to allow us to meet the training and operational needs of the various aspects of the business.

Guimbal Cabri G2
Our primary training aircraft. A delightful two seater helicopter with a piston engine, a three bladed fully articulated rotor head and a Fenestron anti-torque system. A brilliant first aircraft to learn to fly, with all the modern safety features.

Robinson R44
Somewhat larger than the Cabri, the R44 is a 4 seater aircraft
with a two bladed underslung rotor system and a conventional tail rotor. Moving up to the R44 introduces hydraulic controls and more power - an exciting, but sometimes challenging, transition. Some students choose to complete all their training in the R44. The R44 is the workhorse of helicopter charter flights in
many countries, including Australia and also is a very familiar sight in outback Australia where it is used for aerial mustering and other jobs.

Bell 206 Jet Ranger
Arguably the safest helicopter ever built on the basis of global flight hours, the Jet Ranger is a two bladed turbine helicopter with a conventional tail rotor. A very familiar sight in the skies, the Jet Ranger has traditionally been many a pilot’s first turbine helicopter. With five seats, power, comfort and capability, you will quickly realise that the Jet Ranger is an absolute pleasure to fly.

Eurocopter EC120
Stepping up to a more modern platform, the EC120 offers digital engine management, loads of power and seating for 5. Of European design, the three bladed clockwise rotating main rotor blade coupled with the Fenestron tail design gives a smooth and controlled flight experience. A modern corporate aircraft with plenty of luggage capacity, the EC120 is an impressive machine and is a big cousin to the Cabri G2.
